DR strings are hand made and therefore will always sound a bit vintage. Here however is a string that will deliver what it promises: A pure nickel string that will give you a vintage tone with great low ranges. The Pure Blues are made with round core wire instead of the traditional hex wire. This allows the Pure Nickel wounding to be wrapped tighter to the core, giving the string a prolonged sustain as well as that vintage sound. This string will surprise you with its sound but also for it's punchy define projection.
